Shipping Operator / Tow Motor Driver Department: Shipping Position Type: Full-Time Shift: 1st Shift Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour Job Summary We are currently seeking an experienced Shipping Operator / Tow Motor Driver to join our warehouse shipping team. The Shipping Operator will safely operate a forklift/tow motor to stage, prepare, load, and unload customer orders for shipment.This position will work closely with warehouse employees, temporary associates, truck drivers, shipping clerks, and management to ensure orders are accurate, properly staged, safely loaded, and shipped on time. Key Responsibilities
Safely operate a forklift/tow motor throughout the warehouse and shipping areas.
Stage and organize customer orders for outbound shipment.
Verify product quantities, item numbers, pallet labels, and shipping information.
Arrange pallets in the proper loading sequence to maximize trailer space and prevent product damage.
Safely load and unload trailers.
Communicate with truck drivers regarding loading schedules, dock assignments, and shipment readiness.
Verify and accurately complete PRO numbers, Bills of Lading (BOLs), shipping paperwork, and carrier information.
Inspect trailers before loading to ensure they are clean, dry, and safe.
Coordinate with temporary employees and warehouse associates to ensure pallets are properly staged and wrapped.
Ensure all pallets are securely wrapped, labeled, and ready for transportation.
Maintain shipping accuracy and meet daily productivity expectations.
Complete daily forklift inspections and immediately report equipment or safety concerns.
Follow all OSHA requirements and company safety policies.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping dock and warehouse.
Assist with inventory counts and other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous warehouse and shipping experience preferred.
Previous forklift/tow motor experience required or strongly preferred.
Forklift certification or ability to become certified.
RF scanner and warehouse management system experience is a plus.
Ability to read and understand shipping documents, Bills of Lading, and PRO numbers.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Dependable attendance and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, and lifting.
Ability to operate a forklift for extended periods.
Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures.
Must be able to safely perform the physical requirements of the position.
