Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for operating and programming CNC and manual machining equipment, producing high-quality precision components, maintaining equipment, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The Lead Machinist will also provide guidance and training to entry-level machinists while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of machining processes, CNC programming, blueprint reading, precision measurement, and manufacturing best practices. Experience with CAD/CAM software and a commitment to producing quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment are essential. Benefits:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and maintain CNC and manual milling machines, lathes, and other machining equipment.
Program, edit, and optimize CNC machine programs to meet production requirements.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
Select, install, and adjust tooling, fixtures, and cutting tools to ensure efficient and accurate production.
Utilize precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and related inspection tools, to verify product quality and dimensional accuracy.
Perform quality inspections and document results to ensure compliance with specifications and customer requirements.
Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements to enhance productivity and quality.
Maintain machine calibration and perform routine preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized tooling to modify, repair, or assemble components as needed.
Support product development, engineering projects, and production assembly activities.
Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to entry-level machinists and other production personnel.
Assist with the maintenance and repair of hydraulic and mechanical presses.
Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications:
Previous experience operating and programming CNC milling machines and lathes.
Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, feeds, speeds, and manufacturing processes.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering specifications.
Experience using precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations related to measurements, tolerances, and machining operations.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with CAD/CAM software, including AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
Experience with welding equipment and fabrication processes.
Experience with tooling setup and fixture design.
Forklift certification or forklift operating experience.
Experience with purchasing, inventory management, and vendor relations.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
Ability to lift and move materials, parts, and equipment as required.
Ability to work safely around moving machinery, manufacturing equipment, and industrial tools.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
