Job Summary

Armada Staffing Group is seeking dependable and motivated Field Technicians for an exciting opportunity supporting construction, transportation, and infrastructure projects in the Lima, Ohio area.

The Field Technician will perform field testing, inspections, and material sampling to help ensure construction materials meet project specifications, industry standards, and safety requirements. This role involves working directly on active construction sites, collecting and documenting test results, and communicating with project engineers, contractors, and inspectors.

Candidates with previous construction experience are encouraged to apply. Experience in construction materials testing is a plus, but candidates who are eager to learn and demonstrate strong attention to detail will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform on-site testing of concrete during placement, including sampling, slump, air content, temperature, and strength testing.
• Conduct field inspections and quality control activities in accordance with project specifications, DOT standards, and industry requirements.
• Perform field testing of concrete, soil, aggregates, and asphalt as needed.
• Collect, label, and transport material samples for laboratory testing.
• Accurately document test results, field observations, and construction quantities.
• Prepare and submit daily field reports in a clear and timely manner.
• Communicate testing results and observations with project engineers, contractors, and client representatives.
• Verify that materials and placement methods comply with approved plans and specifications.
• Maintain, calibrate, and properly store testing equipment.
• Follow jobsite safety procedures, traffic control requirements, and public safety standards.
• Travel to multiple project sites throughout Ohio as needed.
• Perform additional testing and inspection duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in construction, construction materials testing, or a related field preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass a motor vehicle record (MVR) check.
• Reliable transportation to and from the office in Lima, Ohio.
• Willingness and ability to travel to construction project sites throughout Ohio.
• Ability to follow instructions, learn new procedures, and work independently in the field.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping skills.
• Ability to communicate professionally with project personnel and customers.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.

What You'll Do

• Perform electrical testing and inspections on equipment, systems, and components.
• Conduct testing in accordance with applicable UL, NEC, IEEE, and NETA standards.
